The first-ever student hackathon at Fresno State!

HackFresno is a student hackathon at Fresno State that encourages creativity and innovation while solving some of the world's toughest problems. Stay up for 24 hours with the coolest and brightest people you will ever meet, and help design a product that can improve the world. This year, we are focusing all projects on four core themes. These themes encompass some of today's toughest issues, and encourage teams to think of ways to use their skills to benefit the world around them.

Everyone is welcome, from the most experienced developers and designers to first-time programmers with a drive to solve our biggest challenges. Regardless of your skill, there is a place for you at HackFresno.

Judging Criteria

  • Usability
How well does your app work? Do you have any functioning features? Try to have a functioning project even if you have fewer features. Remember, quality over quantity!
  • Impact
How well does your hack solve an issue in your selected theme? What is the potential market impact of your hack? Be creative with the development of your hack. Try to come up with a novel solution to the problem you are trying to solve!
  • Polish
The best hacks are those that both look as great as they function. How streamlined is your UX? How "finished" does your app look?
  • Pitch
A great idea also needs a great pitch. How well can you convey your idea and your vision? Presentation is key!
